From 1300 to 1521 a powerful tribe dominated large parts of Mesoamerica, the Aztecs.
In 1519 a small group of Spanish conquistadors led by Hernán Cortés arrived and in 1521 captured the Aztec emperor Cuauhtemoc.
But on a remote island a small Aztec city reject the conquistador's assault and fight for their beliefs.
